Daytrip

Since we haven't gotten lost in Winston-Salem for about three days in a row, it was time to venture to a new place for a day, check out new scenery, make some u-turns. Since venturing with Kim in tow toward the ocean without a specific destination turned out great, we thought we'd take it to the mountains. On the way we found Blowing Rock on the map. This is the former hometown of Jan Karon and inspirational setting for her Mitford series. Like most important events in our lives, this one couldn't happen with out a huge thunderstorm--just as we reached town. So I'm fairly certain that the town was incredibly charming-from what we could see through the rain. We dashed in "Father Tim's Church" and then into an outdoors store. Jan Karon never wrote about outfitter stores but we couldn't resist. There are only 3 chain stores/restaurants in the whole town and that speaks volumes.
We then headed out on the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopped along the way to hike to a waterfall. I would let the pictures speak but of course they do no justice. But we'll show them anyway~

I think your hair looks great, in the rainy picture especially. It will garner you new respect and reverence as a resident. Coupled with the intensity of that look and your glasses you will be an unstoppable force of medical wherewithal.
